A day for failed, and some successful bucket list NYC happenings!

Today was beyond wet in New York. When your flats, hair, purse, arms, ears, whole body is immersed in water one can say that you had a New York shower... and then you run and have a real one.

After a day of trying to go to the Whitney Museum of American art (fail), H&M (success), and Red Rooster in Harlem (success). I say that today, and my outfit, were successful!

Score one for patterns!

Also a great friend of mine, and contributor to this blog through amazing home-made jewelry and gifted clothes has an amazing Etsy page, check it out!!!  http://www.etsy.com/shop/PonderBeauty

Tuesday Patterns and Loafers

Tuesday is always a quiet day for me and when things are quiet and relaxed I like to wear shorts!!

The shorts below are my favorite and are also comfy. I love the t-shirt, which was a gift from a friend as well as my gold necklaces.

My loafers are the highlight of this outfit because they are a great color, have an awesome pattern, and older women compliment me all the time on them for their "high fashion look."

Also I apologize for all of the phone pictures, since I do not have stable Internet at home this is my staple way o blogging, at least I am still blogging at all!

Happy fashioning friends!

Gloomy Tuesday - First day of classes

AHHH its begun!

The fall has arrived and in true East Coast Fall fashion it is really gloomy out. It is also New York Fashion week so despite all the rainy gloom there will be some outrageously cool and sometimes just outrageous clothing.

Today is loooong for me so I will be wearing cool yet comfortable clothing such as my cropped purple cords from H&M, my long floral blouse belted, and a plaid blazer. I will need my Sprout watch to keep time and a nice vintage necklace to seal the deal of the day.

So welcome back school year and hello Fall!

Tip of the Day: Cropped pants are a nice transition outfit from Summer to Fall.

Finishing Up Fridays

YEAH!! Its another Friday!

Today is just a work day for me and then I plan to go home and hang out because I am exhausted!!!

Anyhoo today was a slightly rushed job on the part of my outfit. Thankfully I got this great shirt from Threadcase and I have an amazing skirt, which, like when putting two and two together, make a great set. The shirt is great because of its amazing pattern and metallic detailing but also because of its shape. It can be easily worn tucked in, but also worn out with a pair of skinny pants or tights. The skirt is one of my favorites! It has an amazing print of King-Kong and I love the pockets and wood buttons as details.

Coupled with the top and skirt I chose single accessories - from my turquoise necklace, to my Sprout watch. Finally for shoes I chose my blue jean peep-toe wedges.

Tip of the day: Wear something quirky, especially on Friday!

Outfit:
Top: Threadcase ($20)
Skirt: Gift ($0)
Belt: Consignment, Ann Taylor ($2)
Shoes: Payless ($20)
Watch: Sprout ($20)
Necklace: Cultural Survival ($12)

Research Thursdays

Today is the start to the end of the week and I am excited for the outfit and the friday to come!

After a long week, mostly at the library working on a thesis as elusive as a unicorn, I wanted more comfort as well as some funkiness.

I found this great top from a website found on Kendi Everyday, an amazing blog that I have become addicted to for a few months now. The top is a vintage "petite piece" as it is called and was inexpensive due to the 30% off sale the website was having. With the top I tucked it into a basic blue jean skit, a red Gap tank-top, and cinched it all with my consignment Ann Taylor belt. For accessories I chose a gifted beautiful necklace, a big ol' ring from H&M and of course the ever-present Sprout watch.

Shoes I chose the basic route and grabbed my yellow wedge peep-toes for all the running up and down the library stairs.

Tip of the day: take a risk on a new website or an old vintage top!
