Printed Skirt, Embellished Shirt

Although I love my printed Boden skirt, its always a challenge to show off its cute patterned two tone glory, but not have it become too over the top for work. Today I showed it off by pairing it with a navy tank with tuxedo detailing. I actually have this tank in navy and black because I love how versatile it is. I sometimes wear these to the office, but I also frequently break them out and wear them out. I really liked how even though the color of the top was pretty conservative with the skirt, both had really great details. I put a basic green cardigan over the predominantly navy outfit. I tried to wear other shoes with this outfit, but a large part of my heels are at the shoemaker this week, so I went with my tried and true navy blue shoes.

Leggy Lazy Sunday

Today was another lazy day for me. But when I did get up, it was a lovely sunny day and I decided to break out a mini skirt for the day. This is actually a really cool mini skirt with navy uniform inspired buttons on the front, but I didn't feel like tucking my shirt into it today. I was feeling pretty low key so I paired my mini skirt with my basic navy t-shirt and purple cardigan. To finish off my outfit and add another splash of color I wore my red Boden moccasins. Overall, it was a nice low key outfit for a refreshingly low key day.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend! Romulus was out taking pictures with me this afternoon, hence the funny expressions!

Today my outfit was total fluke. The lovely Miss Fiona woke me up early this morning so by the time it was time to get dressed I was already out of it. I threw on this sweater skirt combo after I had already cast about 50% of my work clothes onto the floor.

Despite its dubious beginnings, I really liked this outfit and got many compliments on it. This was the first time I felt like I found a top that fit with the skirt. Because this skirt sits right at my waist (not my hips or high waisted) its hard to find a shirt that fits with it. This sweater hit the skirt at just the right place.

To spice up my outfit I borrowed a long necklace from my marm and wore my metallic Jeffrey Campbell flats.

Breaking Out My Basics!

Today I could not figure out what I wanted to wear. I had work, but its been a hectic work and I couldn't make a couple of things work this morning. So I fell back on some basics for my casual Friday look. I love the color of this purple sweater, and although its very simple, I think its a nice shape and is work appropriate.

I paired my sweater with some basic dark jeans and heels, which is pretty standard for me on Friday. I wore my marm's old gray and purple peep toes which matched the sweater and look great peeping out from under jeans.

To finish off my outfit I threw on a scarf that my friend NUT and her Sweetie J brought me from Vietnam. I love the colors and patterns in this scarf and it goes with everything. Since my outfit was lacking in patterns, the scarf was a welcome addition.

Sweater: Banana Republic, $22
Jeans: The Gap, $20
Shoes: Joan and David from the 80's, handed down from my marm.
Scarf: Gift from NUT and J from Vietnam
I hope everybody has fun plans for the weekend!
