My Best Friends Wedding - Bridal Shower Attire
This post is actually a little late. I attended a bridal shower for my future sister in law a few weekends ago and I finally got to wear this awesome red dress that I bought from Maribel a while ago with wedding events in mind. Sadly in the chaos of getting to the shower I didn't take very many pictures of the dress itself. Its an awesome Marc by Marc Jacobs dress that is covered in patterns. I also love that the color on the bodice is red! Its such a fun shape and combo of patterns. I paired it with teal flats and a blue belt because those were the colors that I had that matched the dress. Because the dress had so much going on it was actually a challenge to pick out my shoes. Trusty teal flats to the rescue! I promise better shots next time I break out this dress!

Days of Blue Shoes
Totally without planning it I wore two of my blue shoes on back to back work days. I am actually housesitting for a few weeks, so I grabbed a bunch of my clothes and headed out. Then when I laid out all of my things I realized I had grabbed three pairs of blue shoes, two heels and my teal flats.
This outfit was planned so I could go to work and then head out and meet friends. Although I love my heels, I hate having my feet hurt when I am out having fun with friends.

I was excited to pair my blue booties with this dress. I like how the pop of color in the shoes plays nicely off the pattern in the dress. Both are pretty bold pieces, but I liked how they played off each other.

Orchids
Tonight after work my mother and I went to the Pacific Orchid Expo in SF. We have been going to this show for forever! Seriously since I was pretty little. Some years we don't make it, but most years if we are both in the state we do. This year they had an awesome replica of the Golden Gate Bridge at the entrance to the expo. Perfect for posing although not so perfect for seeing all the aspects of my outfit (my mom took my pics today with my BB, which is not known for its high quality photos). I dressed for the office and the orchid show this morning by forgoing the heels I normally would have worn with this outfit for my teal flats! Sometimes planning is key.

Getting Vintage with my Blackberry
Yesterday I had a long day at work followed by a fun night out with my bestie Stormy Normy. So it was a trip to the bathroom at work with my blackberry in order to take pictures of my outfit. I played with the vintage feel of these pants by tucking in a basic t-shirt to show off the high waist nature of these pants and a funky beaded belt. I also added on a green cardigan and a long necklace to give this outfit a more interesting look.

These are the details of my outfit! The funny thing about his necklace is it jingles when you walk. No sneaking up on anybody for me!

The highlight of my outfit today was my bright green sweater. I don't wear this sweater that much since I share it with my Marm and its in heavy rotation with her these days. However this morning I reclaimed it and wore it to the office. Since its not the easiest color to wear I paired it with dark jeans and a long sleeved black shirt. I did want a little more color, so I wore my teal flats. Wearing color in the winter is important in my world! Can't be getting too conservative now . . .

Safari
Today I emerged from my vegetable-like state long enough to get dressed and run errands. One of these errands was swinging by a friends house. What was supposed to be a brief hand off of some sunglasses that I had inadvertently taken and endangered turned into a photo shoot!
Lucky for me, my friend Maggie of Margaretedith takes excellent photos and I think actually improved the calibur of the this outfit. I put this outfit together based on its level of comfort. I love my zebra dress for its fantastic pattern and adorable yet comfy shape. I threw on my cashmere cardigan over it because it is both SO soft and also not to crazy a color with the bold print of this dress. Leggings were a must since its January!
My teal flats and the green scarf were added to add in some color to my otherwise neutral outfit.
The best part of Maggie taking these pictures is as a blogger herself she took these awesome detail shots which I can't usually do very well with my tripod system.

Special Thanks to Maggie for taking these awesome pictures. My outfit wouldn't have had the great safari vibe without you!

Casual Tuesday
Sticking with my casual theme for the week, I dressed up my skinny jeans with a button down from J. Crew via Maribel, a cardigan, and flats. But me being me, none of it was all that conservative. The shirt and cardigan combo were bursting with color and pattern. And I went with my teal flats since they were in the same color palate. One of my favorite things about this outfit is how the shirt and sweater matched the bracelets my Coolest A gave me for Christmas and the nail polish my genius cousin gave me for Channukah. It was an outfit made in gifted heaven.

Out of Towners
Cardigan and T-shirt: The Gap Cardigan: Maribel, gift from my mother Shoes: LL Bean
On Monday, my office was closed for the Christmas holiday. This meant that I had an extra day to hang out with friends who are in town. The outfit above is what I wore during the day to meet up with friends for brunch and get my nails done. The outfit below is what I wore to out for drinks. I ended up crawling into bed at 2am and then had to wake up for work this morning. Still, totally worth it!

Bows on my Toes
For my birthday my bestie and former roomie Mrs. V gave me these awesome bows to clip on to my shoes. They actually match a J. Crew shirt that both Mrs. V and I have (in all fairness she had it first). Because I clipped them onto my teal flats I paired them with cropped pants and muted colors. I didn't want to go overboard at the office after all!

It took many attempts to get a close up of the awesome bowness! And you still can't see the pattern!

Long Weekend!
During the post-Thanksgiving long weekend I went down the coast of California to Santa Cruz to visit my bestie Moueff. We had so much fun hanging out and being silly. This outfit is from Friday night when we went out. For this night, Moueff and I actually traded tops. She bought this one while we were in Vegas a little over a year ago I loved wearing it. It has really cool grecian draping.
We also straightened my hair before going out. I almost never do this, but it makes me feel like a whole different person not to have my curly hair.

The next day after delicious brunch and a girly movie we walked along West Cliff by the Ocean! It was amazing weather for this time of year!

Special Thanks to Moueff for taking these pictures as well as being such a good friend. I had such a blast on my visit!
Sunday was a day of errands and a return to real life after the lovely Thanksgiving break. I broke out my Marc shirt for a laid back day

Princess Fiona decided to hang out with me in the back yard. She doesn't match my outfit today, but that didn't stop me from schnuggling her!
