Burnt to a Crisp Outfit

(the dress on the right is from dinner last night. Gap $20)

I am very uncomfortable!!!

Okay, so after that mini exclamation of discomfort I will continue my post. After a relaxing day yesterday beaching it on a birthday extravaganza I learned the hard way that the sun is both your best and worst accessory, and that tan lines are serious business.

In order to avoid almost any skin contact I decided to wear light and relaxed clothes. I am wearing a blue top tucked into a black and white striped skirt from Express. I like to cinch the skirt and make it high-waisted so I can show off my legs, which are the only place on my body that resembles normal skin.

For accessories I chose my gifted clip-on shell earrings from my amazing friend Kristine and my Sprout watch. For shoes I am wearing my super colorful, and very comfortable wedges.

Tip of the Day: You can put flowy top with flowy skirt, but make sure you cinch or gather the fabric so you have a shape underneath all the flow!

Outfit:
Top: H&M ($20)
Skirt: Express ($10)
Shoes: Rainbow (Borrowed $0)
Earring: Gift ($0)
Watch: Sprout ($20)

Turquoise and Pink Hot Mondays

Hey lovely readers and casual passersby!

Today is a work and errand day, I am solo for the week due to my roommates trip to Vermont so I will have my outfits to keep me company in the apartment.

Today is set to be another 90 degree day to blur in with the many others of the last two weeks. Due to hot weather but also a cold office I decided to wear a nice turquoise belted dress with my colorful wedges, and owl necklace. I also paired this with my print blazer from H&M.

Remember that just because it is 90 outside does not mean it wont be freezing in the office, in the grocery store, or in the long trip back to Brooklyn. So bring something nice and easy to throw on that represents you but also staves away the goosebumps!

Tip of the Day: A blazer is your best friend, against plain styling and cold temperatures inside!

Outfit:
Dress: Urban Outfitters ($10)
Belt: H&M ($2)
Shoes: Borrowed Rainbow ($0)
Watch: Sprout ($20)
Necklace: Forever 21 ($2.50)

Mid-week outfit!

Hello,

At the mid-week everyone tends to feel a little of a slump but, luckily, clothes and put you back on track if they are interesting, comfortable, and make you feel good.

Today my outfit speaks to that and my love for patter and color. Today I am wearing a thrift store skirt in bright red pushed higher to be a high-waisted skirt and belted in the paper-bag skirt style. This helps me feel a bit taller and not swallowed in my clothes. Alongside that I wanted to add some print, so I took out an old favorite striped tank and button down.

For accessories, I kept it basic with a chain necklace, a bright ring, sash belt, and peep-toe wedges.

Tip of the Day: Remember the proportions of your body and highlight them!

Outfit:
Skirt: Boomerangs ($5)
Tank: WetSeal ($5)
Button Down, Short-Sleeved: H&M ($14)
Belt: Gift
Necklace: Flea Market ($10)
Shoes: Borrowed, Rainbow ($0)

Busy Thursday-Outfit

Hello everyone!

Today is yet another gorgeous day on the East coast (again enjoyed from a room with no windows) But at any rate it will be a nice day, a long one, and filled with work, food, hanging with a good friend and museuming!

Today I am wearing my Uniqlo printed top with some basic (or not so basic) green wide-legged shorts. I needed something to wear over the top because of air-conditioning and choose the wonderful stripped light cover-up to add even more print to my outfit.

For accessories I went basic with my brown Ann Taylor belt, my metal and clear plastic bracelets. and borrowed platform shoes with lots of color!

Tip of the Day: Wear a great top with basic wide-leg shorts!

Outfit:
Shirt: Uniqlo ($20)
Cover-Up: JC Penny ($5)
Short: Urban O ($10)
Shoes: Rainbow (Borrowed $0)
Bracelets: Gifts ($0)

Just another monday, except for the clothes!

Today is yet another Monday and the beginning of another week. I am in the process of finals - researching, staying up late, and wrestling with topics and ideas. The last thing I want to wrestle with is my clothe so today I am dressed semi casually and threw in some interesting pieces to make the outfit a bit more fun and playful.

I am wearing several given items, the shirt and blazer and amazingly cheap pants I just bought at the gap. The color and the zippers were the reason why I wanted/needed them. I have a bunch of bracelets, rings, and pins today and borrowed colorful shoes to fight the gray that in NYC today.

Tip of the Day: try a kinda crazy t-shirt, under a more conservative blazer!

Outfit:
T-Shirt: Given by friend (martha)
Blazer:: Given by friend (Emily)
Pants: The Gap ($12)
Shoes: Borrowed (Emma) but from Rainbow
Bracelets: Flea Markets ($10)
Belt: H&M ($5)
Pin: Gift (Lenya)

The End of the Week Draws Near ... Time for More Clothes!

Hello All,

It is beautiful outside and before I venture out into the sun (finally) I wanted to make my comments on the outfit today.

I forgot I had these purple cordiroy cropped pants that I have had for years and dug them out to wear today. I am wearing a H&M shirt with a different belt. The belt has scottie terriers on it.

For chilly offices I am wearing a military style jacket with funky buttons from Urban Outfitters and great shoes borrowed from my friend/roommate Emma!

The accessories are from Boomerangs and my friend Claire (thanks!)

Outfit:
Jacket: Urban Outfitters ($20)
Shirt: H&M ($10)
Belt: Free, A La Emily
Pants: H&M ($10)
Shoes: Borrowed but from Rainbow
