Raining, Busy, Cold Thursday

Hello everyone,

This is the second of my outfits for the day. After hours in the library in a dress and flats I found being cold motivates you to high-tail it home and put on some pants!

And that is what I did!

So today I chose to wear my Gap cropped green military-style pants. I actually love these and was surprised about how well they fit the leg and were not too long. For under $20 they were a steal! With that I paired it with a Uniqlo t-shirt and my Goodwill button down. For accessories, and due to rain, I chose a basic silver chain and cute patent leather flats from Payless.

I guess Fall is really "falling" into place, tehe. That was bad, sorry :)

Tip of the Day: The Goodwill is your friend, and chock full of great finds. If you are a digger and you like a hunt, a Goodwill is for you!

Outfit:
Button-Down: Goodwill ($5)
Pants: The Gap ($20)
Shoes: Payless ($15)
Watch: Sprout ($20)
Necklace: Aldo's Accessories ($10)

One Year in NYC!!

Hello Everyone!

Today marks my first year anniversary in NYC! It has been a very fast year and the start for a new year of NYC styling and fashion finds!

So today I have my job and some errands after work before heading home to have an apartment dinner. I decided to put a task upon me this week and wear a vintage/consignment top or bottom everyday this week. Whether it is a dress, or otherwise, I must make it consignment/vintage!

Vintage can seem like it has an old feeling or dated but the point is to mix and match with other items to make it current as well as reflecting your style. I hope I show that to you all this week!

Today I am wearing my consignment skirt from my favorite store Boomerangs in Jamaica Plain. It is an Ann Taylor red skirt and I love it for the color and the cute buttons that it has instead of a zipper. I cinched it high on my waist with a gifted belt and the top is a nice t-shirt from Uniqlo via Cacherel.

For accessories I wanted some stand-out pieces so I chose my Mah Jong bracelets and HUGE earrings. You know your earrings are huge when you need to take them off to talk on the phone. I learned this rule from some amazing older ladies I use to work for. Also I am wearing my peep-toe wedges.

Tip of the Day: Never be afraid of a lengthy skirt. Wear it high with heels if your short or low with flat sandals if you are tall.

Outfit:
Top: Uniqlo ($20)
Skirt: Ann Taylor via Boomerangs ($5)
Shoes: Payless ($20)
Belt: Gift ($0)
Earrings: Flea Market ($5)
Bracelets: Urban Outfitters ($20 each)
Watch: Sprout ($20)

Simple Sunday

Today is a beautiful day in New York but I am exhausted, crawling out of bed much later than usual I wanted to wear something comfortable, casual, and easy to walk in - with a dash of patty funkiness.

How I do that is add print and lots of it. The top I chose today is one of my few Uniqlo purchases, and kind of a splurge, in comparison to the single to under $20 items I typically purchase. I am a sucker for less expensive brands working with high-fashion and this Cacheral top hits the mark for me.

I paired it with shorts from H&M, my Ann Taylor belt and Payless wedges. For accessories I chose my Aldo hat, beaded gift necklaces, and my watch - Sprout as always.

I feel ready for a walk and seeing a friend and falling asleep to a movie about bees, a perfect Sunday.

Tip of the Day: Access high fashion through cheaper bigger stores like Target, Uniqlo, Payless, and H&M - you will not be disappointed.

Outfit:
Top: Uniqlo ($30)
Shorts: H&M ($20)
Shoes: Payless ($20)
Hate: Aldo Accessories ($14)
Necklace: Gift ($0)
Watch: Sprout ($20)

Busy Thursday-Outfit

Hello everyone!

Today is yet another gorgeous day on the East coast (again enjoyed from a room with no windows) But at any rate it will be a nice day, a long one, and filled with work, food, hanging with a good friend and museuming!

Today I am wearing my Uniqlo printed top with some basic (or not so basic) green wide-legged shorts. I needed something to wear over the top because of air-conditioning and choose the wonderful stripped light cover-up to add even more print to my outfit.

For accessories I went basic with my brown Ann Taylor belt, my metal and clear plastic bracelets. and borrowed platform shoes with lots of color!

Tip of the Day: Wear a great top with basic wide-leg shorts!

Outfit:
Shirt: Uniqlo ($20)
Cover-Up: JC Penny ($5)
Short: Urban O ($10)
Shoes: Rainbow (Borrowed $0)
Bracelets: Gifts ($0)

The dreariness continues but a least there's sunny clothing!

Hello everyone!

Sorry I have been MIA. I went on a two day trip and was not able to photograph myself so despite the fact I had nice outfits on, I could not show them off. But trust me you will see them! I wanted to wear my boyfriend jeans today because it is a casual day at the office. These are jeans I have had since high school and I absolutely love how they have become on trend again after years in the back of my bureau. I also wanted to highlight a very cute top bought at Uniqlo, a store I tend to never shop in. I found this t-shirt and I loved the pattern and its cut.

Today I am wearing a brightly colored, flower patterned top from Uniqlo, a dark green army inspired blazer with lace detail from my Aunt this last Christmas. For the bottoms I choose my very old, and very soft and comfortable "boyfriend" jeans from American Eagle. As shoes I choose my wedge platforms from Payless and for jewelry I choose all necklaces that were given to me from my friends and family. I love the watch necklace and the beads together, different lengths and types of necklaces go well for layering. Finally to keep my jeans in place I am wearing a hot pink H&M belt I got on sale a few years back.

Tip of the Day: Go someone and check out clothes you would not usually! You could find a great deal or item that way.

Outfit:
Top: Uniqlo (designer Cacherel) ($19)
Blazer: A gift from my Aunt (Free)
Jeans: American Eagle ($20)
Shoes: Payless ($23)
Belt: H&M ($5)
Jewelry: All Gifts
