Tuesday Back to Basics

Man oh man have I been gone for a while!  Apologies for my absence.  My brother got married last weekend (!!!) and I was out of blogging commission.  Yesterday going back to work was downright painful.  Today I faced the world in my gray bow t-shirt, my full black skirt, and my funky Charlotte Ronson heels.  I finished the look off with a hand me down scarf to keep me warm in the office.  Not my most creative office, but hopefully still pulled together.

Tuesday Patterns and Loafers

Tuesday is always a quiet day for me and when things are quiet and relaxed I like to wear shorts!!

The shorts below are my favorite and are also comfy. I love the t-shirt, which was a gift from a friend as well as my gold necklaces.

My loafers are the highlight of this outfit because they are a great color, have an awesome pattern, and older women compliment me all the time on them for their "high fashion look."

Also I apologize for all of the phone pictures, since I do not have stable Internet at home this is my staple way o blogging, at least I am still blogging at all!

Happy fashioning friends!

Monday: Relaxed and Colorful

Today I let my skirt (actually a dress) set the tone for today's outfit- bright, colorful, and relaxed.

The skirt was given to me by a friend who visited her family in Jamaica. I love the feel and colors and it shows off my bright flats!

The flats are new via the Webster for Target line. They were on sale and were just what I needed!

Great finds from the west coast!

So I am moving to the west coast at the end of the summer! HB and PEP will be on the same coast and same Bay Area!

Mike and I visited Portland, OR and found amazing thrift items!! I am wearing two today - my shoes and blouse!

One came from the Goodwill (the Blouse) the other from this awesome store called the Red Light! I had so much fun and I am ready to get a job and shop on the west coast!

Day to Day

In many ways, wearing this bright purple skirt is easy because it pulls to focus in any outfit.  On Wednesday I decided to pair it with a brown t-shirt and my trusty oatmeal cardigan for an easy office outfit.  Because I was being really conservative with my tops I finished my outfit off with my leopard print heels.  A lot of color and a little bit of pattern, or just another day at the office for me.

This morning I really didn't want to get out of bed.  I had a birthday dinner last night and it was cold and foggy when my alarm went off.  But alas, work called and clothes are strongly encouraged at the office.  So I broke out my plaid shirt dress and a pair of leggings.  This dress is pretty short so I don't like wearing it without something under it at the office.  But its July, so full on tights seemed like overkill.  Plus its usually warm in the afternoon so I didn't want to roast!  Nude flats and my trusty printed scarf finished off my outfit for the day.  Its a pretty casual look with the leggings, but it was perfect for a day like today!

Commentary

Whenever I wear these blue shoes from Boden they get compliments.  But today it went into overdrive.  People commented on the street, in the office, at the gym . . . It was all very flattering.  I really wore them because it was a cold day but I refused to wear tights or pants and wanted to stay warm.  Also it was a Monday so I needed something on my feet so I could get out the door and to work.

New Week, New Jacket

Hello fashion readers!

Thanks for sticking with this blog considering how little I post! I will try to be better!

I was in Boston this weekend with my lovely and stylish boyfriend Mike and we were in thrift store and happened upon an amazing linen jacket and I had to buy it! It is from the 1980s and was sold in Neiman Marcus so those are all pluses, AND it is light and colorful!

Have a great rest of the week!

Green on the Bottom

This weekend I was all about being green.  On Friday I wore my green pants to work and then out for a night on the town with friends (I switched shirts and shoes in between), and then Saturday night I broke out a skirt that I couldn't resist at Anthro but had not yet had an opportunity to wear.  I didn't plan on being green all weekend, but for both occasions I couldn't resist.  I love my vibrant green pants and decided that for casual Friday I would pair them with a striped long sleeve and heels.  Later when I went out for drinks with friends I switched over to a black v-neck and gold flats - I hate when my feet hurt when bar hopping.  Saturday night I finally had a chance to wear my green lace skirt to a birthday party.  This skirt was $11 at Anthro.  I found it on crazy sale and couldn't resist.  Since its a pretty busy skirt I paired it with a favorite black long sleeve and nude flats (obviously not pictured) and headed out.   I hope to wear both of these bottoms again in the near future.  Sorry Kermit, this weekend it was easy being green!

Neglected

Another day at work, and surprisingly, another pair of pants.  I love my slouchy khakis but I don't wear them as much as I would like.  Truth be told I don't find them as easy to match to tops and still look as good for the office as I would like.  But today I paired them with my printed silk top and trusty oatmeal cardigan and called it a comfortable day.  Don't get me wrong, I like how this outfit looks as well, but it also felt like I was lounging around in sweats rather than working in a high-rise.  Score?

I'm Alive and Have Green Pants

Look I have green pants!  These pants and so many other things have happened in the last week and a half.  These pictures were actually taken last Tuesday.  I have found myself busy busy busy socially.  Which is really fun, but it means that if I make it home in time to take pictures I usually have to rush out right afterwards to do something else.  Thus, these sat on my camera for a week before I even uploaded them.  Last week, due to the 4th of July, my office got very casual.  So I broke out my new green pants!  I loved them at the Gap, I tried them on at the Gap, I left them at the Gap because they were full price/I am trying to be good, and when the 4th of July sale was on I bought them at the Gap.  I paired them with pretty neutral pieces to make them workplace appropriate.  I can't wait to continue playing with them and see where they go from here! I actually don't think these pictures do them justice, so I guess I'll have to wear them and actually photograph them again soon!

Tuesday Patterns

Living with most of your clothes in bags does not make styling easy but a challenge is a challenge!

My outfit today is a mash of different patterns, styles, and accessories! It is still hot here (90 degrees) so I wanted loose fabrics that breathe but also look good for the office.

A Late Monday Post

Due to the lack of internet in the apartment my boyfriend and I are subletting my posts may have a more work oriented feel for awhile! I will continue to bring style (some humor) and many patterns despite being shot in a bathroom.

Despite the heat in NYC, I have tried to put outfits together, even though the thought makes me sweat a little so I hope they all look good to you!!!

Leggings Needed

While my poor PEP and other friends on the East Coast sweat it out night and day the fog came in here and today I broke out the leggings to go under my dress!  Generally I think leggings are too casual for the office but its the week of the 4th of July and therefore pretty casual in the office this week.  And, it's JULY!  I couldn't bring myself to wear tights!  Despite the tights, I loved my outfit today.  It was a nice blend of color and pattern.

Moving Time and the Hot, Hot Heat

Life  has been really crazy for the PEP side of this blog. In a rush to move everything I have in less than a month's time to a new part of Brooklyn, my stylish adventures have fallen by the way side (as well as many items of clothes.

I hope to maintain a more steady posting schedule now that I have moved but beware that the outfits will be light and relaxed because the 90+ degree weather is now reaching its fifth day here in NYC!

Hope all is wealth in the style universe!!
