The Stages of My Outfit

Another subtle HB outfit no?  So many things to say: (1) I got more dressed up then I usually would have this dead week because we were celebrating my Daddio's Birthday with fancy pants dinner! (2) A good portion of this outfit is borrowed and/or from Anthropologie.  (3) I posted tons of pictures because this outfit went through many variations throughout my day (flats and the cardigan at the office, just the dress and my wedges at dinner, the wedges and the red coat to keep warm).
This is what I looked like at the end of the night.  I really like how the brown legs and shoes go with the dress/jacket/necklace combo!

The dress is actually my mothers.  She bought it for my brother's engagement party from Anthro.  Actually, the dress, shoes and sweater jacket are all Anthro!

The dress, necklace, and flats (in the picture below) were all borrowed from my mother.  She is very generous with her wardrobe!

I toned down this loud dress at the office with brown flats (borrowed from my mother) and the brown cardigan I knit in college.  It was still a pretty bright and bold outfit, but my office is used to it!

Dress, Flats and Necklace: Anthropologie, Steve Madden via Nordstrom's Rack and Made by my Daddio in the 70's all borrowed from my marm.  Cardigan: Made by Me!  Tights: Pendi, $10  Jacket: Anthro, $70

FINALLY THURSDAY!!!

Not often do I say that I am happy for a Thursday but I am! My BF comes back today and I am beyond excited!!

Before he lands back in NYC I have a coffee date and some errands and than cooking for Mike!

The first outfit of the day is a hot pink long sleeve with a brown and white tunic over it. I love the tunic because of the pockets and how it brings pattern to my outfit. I chose my gray pants (with tights underneath) because it is cold and these pants are comfy for busy days.

For jewelry I am highlighting more of my grandmother's jewelry including this pendant necklace and beautiful black and sparkly bracelet. Alongside that I am wearing my Casio Watch and red Urban wedges.

Happy Thursday!

Casual Tuesday

Sticking with my casual theme for the week, I dressed up my skinny jeans with a button down from J. Crew via Maribel, a cardigan, and flats.  But me being me, none of it was all that conservative.  The shirt and cardigan combo were bursting with color and pattern.  And I went with my teal flats since they were in the same color palate.  One of my favorite things about this outfit is how the shirt and sweater matched the bracelets my Coolest A gave me for Christmas and the nail polish my genius cousin gave me for Channukah.  It was an outfit made in gifted heaven.
Jeans: The Gap, $40  Shoes: L.L. Bean, $35   Shirt: J. Crew via Maribel, $22 Cardigan: Halogen via Nordstorm, gifted  Nail Polish: OPI, Don't Mess with OPI  Bracelets: Gifted from Coolest A

Wednesday Errands Wear

Hello all!

PEP is BACK in the blog business. I have some photos from my trip but they are not good. However I showed a brief glimpse at some of the items I purchased and was given while in Boston. Also my Aunt gave me all of my grandmother's jewelry so you will see many vintage and aged necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.

Today I wanted something I could lug groceries in. So I chose my Brooks Brothers lambs wool top, a purple and blue t-shirt underneath, and my green army Gap pants. To tie it together I am wearing some of my grandmother's necklaces. For shoes I chose my blue suede boots, my Casio watch, and sparkly gifted bracelet.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Casual Tuesday

This week at the office is pretty calm, but socially it is crazy.  I have tons of post work plans and because its pretty empty at the office I am breaking out the jeans.  I really like the different patterns and pieces of this outfit.  It was low key, but it was still work appropriate.

On Monday, my office was closed for the Christmas holiday.  This meant that I had an extra day to hang out with friends who are in town.  The outfit above is what I wore during the day to meet up with friends for brunch and get my nails done.  The outfit below is what I wore to out for drinks.  I ended up crawling into bed at 2am and then had to wake up for work this morning.  Still, totally worth it!

Honeysuckle Holidays

December is always a crazy month.  Work goes nuts trying to get everything done by year end.  There are loads of holiday parties and all sorts of wonderful people come home.  This means lots of merrymaking and catching up.  This outfit was something I wore to work and then out to the Ballet.  I love how everything came together.  Then I realized that I probably loved the dress and tights combo because they are both from J. Crew.  Yep, Honeysuckle for the holidays!

Comfort

Although I am attempting a fashion diet, I did recently splurge on this Cashmere sweatshirt from J. Crew.  I saw it at Maribel two weeks ago but didn't like how it fit.  It seemed like something I could only wear as lounge wear and after working out.  After thinking about it for a week, I realized I did want it and went back to Maribel for it.  Luckily (!) it was still there and I had Maribel credit so it was $10 off.  It was still a splurge because with tax it was $45.  This is a little more then I would have liked to spend for lounge wear, but I love the color and it feels like heaven (plus I work out a lot and figured it was worth the reward for my good behavior).  Then I went online to Google how much J. Crew initially wanted for it.  They are still selling it and it retails for $248!  It really was a bargain!  And I have been wearing it non-stop since I bought it.

This is what I wore to yoga tonight, and the sweater was perfect for the bus ride home!

Attention (Day 2)

This morning I was lucky I convinced myself to get out of bed and go to work.  SO I went for the same trick that I employed yesterday and rocked cropped pants and awesome shoes.  These are my skinny black cords rolled over to become cropped.  It was successful again today.  My shoes got complimented like they were new!
I broke out my bright blue scarf for a pop of color.  It is me after all.

Shoes: Deena and Ozzy via Jeremy's, $30 Pants: J. Crew, $40  Sweater: The Gap, $30 (this is the other half of the buy one get one free sale that brought me the Cashmere cardigan I wore earlier this week!)  Scarf: Gift from my future sister in law!

Attention

One of the best ways to show off your favorite footwear has to be cropped pants!  These shoes got mad compliments today!  Their color is constantly being complimented.  But I think you have to also notice it has something to do with the shape.  I'm pretty sure the cropped pants didn't hurt either!

Shoes: Seychelles via Nordstrom, $55 Pants, Shirt and Cardigan: The Gap
