The end of a tulmultous May

It is May 31st and I could not be happier about it. From Hives to being evicted from my apartment as of the end of June I am ready for a fresh start. I hope this outfit brings that about!

Another Wet Wednesday!

So sorry everyone for not posting in a while! Due to being busy, hives, and some questionable legal matters posting has been difficult! Also the weather has been unbearable and I traveled to my undergraduate school - Bard - for the weekend!

Today is hot and muggy so I chose something light as well as timeless. I have had this dress from Urban Outfitters since the summer after my Freshman year at Bard. It still fits and I still love it! I hope HB remembers!

Days of Blue Shoes

Totally without planning it I wore two of my blue shoes on back to back work days.  I am actually housesitting for a few weeks, so I grabbed a bunch of my clothes and headed out.  Then when I laid out all of my things I realized I had grabbed three pairs of blue shoes, two heels and my teal flats.
This outfit was planned so I could go to work and then head out and meet friends.  Although I love my heels, I hate having my feet hurt when I am out having fun with friends.
Shoes - L.L. Bean Jeans and Cardigan - The Gap Shirt - BR Belt - borrowed from my mother
I was excited to pair my blue booties with this dress.  I like how the pop of color in the shoes plays nicely off the pattern in the dress.  Both are pretty bold pieces, but I liked how they played off each other.

Untucked

When I realized that I could wear my new Charlotte Ronson shoes with my funky Elie Taheri skirt this morning I was so excited for my outfit!  Unfortunately, it was my basic black long sleeve that gave me trouble throughout the day!  It kept on coming untucked!  Methinks its too short for the slippery waistband of this skirt, but whatever it was, it was annoying.  I still love the way the colors of the skirt and shoes go together!

Fiona got in on the stylishness too!  Although in all fairness she always looks good.

Days of This and That

On Monday I had no inspiration for what to wear to work, so I threw on a few of my favorites and called it a day.  The funny thing is people noticed that I was a pretty toned down version of myself.  One person at work called my outfit elegant!  And I simply thought it was basic.  But I'll take elegant.

Monday and Tuesday were pretty cold, so on Tuesday I wised up and covered up my legs.  I threw on my mothers vintage necklace to spruce up my dark outfit.  It was another day of funny work outfit comments: one of my friends asked me why I didn't look like I had stepped out of an Anthropologie store!  I was both flattered and amused.

Finally on Wednesday I feel like I finally had the energy to think about what I was wearing.  I haven't worn my ikat top in a while so I broke it out and paired it with two of my favorite pieces: my oatmeal cardigan and my BR pencil skirt.  I was sore from working out on Tuesday so I opted for my gold flats to complete the outfit.

Nothing says style like an allergc reaction

Hello everyone!

My weekend was full of sun, friends, celebrations and a not so mild allergic reaction to something. For the last couple of days I have had hives, some swelling, and wishing that it is over. As the allergen hopefully leaves my body (and the weather changes back to sunny) I should be in less covered up and bright clothing! Here is to hoping!

Geometric

Today I paired my geometric silk print top with my structured linen jacket.  I figured the two of them went together since both of them have strong geometric patterns.  I also really liked how the jacket contained the volume of the shirt.  Because it's still chilly willy I wore my skinny cords again and my mark's paisley scarf.  Hand me down Franco Sarto flats completed my outfit.

Something New

The weather has turned cold again which was a perfect opportunity to wear my new dress from Target.      Because of how short the dress is I didn't want to wear it to work without tights.  Because the dress has a lot going on I paired it with brown tights and my trusty oatmeal cardigan.  To finish off my outfit I wore my floral flats.
One of my friends at work got so excited about this dress she tried to buy one for herself, but sadly they were sold out of her petite size!

Recovering Wednesday

After a string of crazy days my body caught up with me, slamming me with a serious sinus cold and practically no voice. After some rest I am ready for work today and more rest!

Low Key

Today was an all over the place day both in and out of the office, so I dressed for comfort and easy running around.  To me that means flats and my skinny cords.  As much as I love my skirts and heels and do believe they are utilitarian, they are hardly low key most days.  And today was a low key day.  To top off my low key outfit I wore my ruffled tank (I know, I know you can hardly see it) and my green cardigan.

Running

Naturally after a laid back day at the office I got two projects as I was going out the door.  So I ended up running for the bus.  The woman at the bus station actually waved me through with an approving look as I raced onto my bus.
