Consistent

Continuing on from my looks last week, I went for yet another patterned piece paired with solids. This look also comes from most of my favorite places: BR, The Gap, and J. Crew via Maribel.  The only two missing are Anthro and Boden.  I love the versatility of pencil skirts and cardigans.  They both allow you to play with shape and color, but are almost always office appropriate and easy to pair with other things.

Monday to Thursday

Its been a hectic week, but that doesn't mean that I go without clothes!  Looking back, I really like all my outfits from this week.  I had some color and pattern on every day that I always paired with solids and neutrals.  I am nothing if not consistent.

Today I had a work meeting and broke out the more conservative HB.

Working Wednesday

Hello Fashion Lovers!

So it is a gloomy, potentially rainy day and I wanted to bring some color and pattern to it. I also felt a little daring and decided to try to wear earrings despite my allergy. Anyhoo we will see how long that lasts.

Although you do not see them in these pics they are pink oval plastic clip-ons!

Happy Mid-Week!

Cloudy, Chilly, Rainy Monday

I have returned from the Land of Cambridge/Boston, so I apologize for the lack of blog posts or, sadly, new clothes from the land of MA. However my hometown is also the home of unseen PEP clothes and haircuts! So I may not have new clothes but my hair is short!!

Sunburn, Skirts, Sandals and Sweaters

The only downside of the awesome bridal shower yesterday is I forgot to put on sunscreen and burned my arms, legs and forehead.  Sometimes, its hard being pale.  So today I wore a vintage wrap skirt as a dress in the hope of getting some sun on my shoulders and attempting to undo my farmers tan!  It wasn't as warm and I didn't spend that much time in the sun, so sadly it didn't help much, but still it was a start. I paired my dress with Naot sandals that my mother recently passed on to me.  I love the shape and design of these sandals.  They are comfortable and supportive enough to wear all day, but still cute and fun.
Check out that burn!  Ooops!  At least I had sleeves on my green Boden dress and didn't burn my shoulders.
Sadly today wasn't as warm as yesterday, so I wore my trusty oatmeal cardigan on and off to combat the breeze.

I really should not be allowed into a Gap.  I went with my mother because she wanted jeans and I walked out with this sweater.  Luckily it was only $17 so it wasn't too expensive.  I love the colors and actually really like how it looks with the skirt.  It reminds me of being in college where the kids were fearless with their clothes (like Miss P)!

My Best Friend's Wedding - Beach House Bridal Shower

This weekend I helped to host a bridal shower for my brothers fiancé with her sister, the other bridesmaid.  It was a total blast, and as you can see, even the weather cooperated!  We had it at a beach house on the cliffs above the beach and I got to break out a dress that I bought because it was on sale and loved but hadn't yet had a chance to wear.  I ordered this dress from Boden when it went on sale for $44 and lucky for me, I had a gift card from Miss P, so it was a steal! I paired it with some hand me down sandals from my mother and my gifted Mosely tribes sunglasses from my brother.  It was such and easy look that was perfect for a beach shower!
It was actually my lovely future sister in law who took these pictures for me!

Warm Friday

fr
Friday was a really warm day by San Francisco standards and although I wore my cardigan to stay all covered up at work, when I was outside  I let my arms be free.  I found this shell in a dry cleaners bay from ages ago and knew it would be perfect for spring.  I love its color shape and neckline.  I also love how it can be worn with either skirts or, in this case jeans.

A "pant"astic day!

So I have been in love with patterned pants (if you have not already seen) and I saw these at the Ann Taylor Loft and had to get them! So they were originally $60, which is too high for me but a day later the Loft had a 40% everything sale, so patterned pants here I come!!

Happy Weekend!

A Find

After reading this article in the NYT about skirts I came across this one at Maribel and knew it had to be mine.  I really like the patterns and colors in it.  It seems like a perfect work skirt without being boring.  Its actually an Ellie Taheri, but since it was Maribel, it was actually under $40.  I am a lucky girl!

Thursday rush around!

Hello! Today is a busy day again with running back and forth from Manhattan and then a lovely beer and snack time with one of my favorite (and fashionable) friends!

Since Mike is dressed in some bright colors, I thought I would do the same!

Cut Off

I love how the colors of my shoes and sweater are picked up in my scarf.  Now that it is spring it seemed like a perfect time to break out my tequila scarf.  Underneath all this color is the most basic of office outfits: black skirt and white top.  I used these as the basis to wear some of my more colorful pieces!

Two days in a  row I wore blue shoes and cut off my own head with my camera placement.  Both the shoes and the headlessness are complete coincidental.  The weather continues to be spring like so I have been letting my legs and toes out to enjoy it.

To make the shoes and rolled up capri's more office appropriate I paired them with some of my more conservative tops.  A friend in the office complimented me on how I matched today.  And I'm not sure I think it was such a good thing.  Yes I stayed in the same color palate, but everything I had on had a lot going on: the pattern on the shirt, the flowers on the sweater, the rolled pans and the party shoes!  There is a not so fine line between having fun with your office wear and looking like you are going clubbing!
