Working and Rooftop Friday

Hello!

Today is finally that exciting day that welcomes in the weekend - Friday!

Today is a day of work and since the city never sleeps (and rarely do I) it is another long day. After work today I am heading over to the MET Museum Roof-top for my Museum Studies Student Organization first event and I am excited to see everyone and to show off the outfit!

Today I am wearing my H&M printed dress as a long tunic top, belted at the higher end of the waist with an cranberry red belt. I need to top it with a blazer and a hoodie due to chilly temperatures and wear nice pants. I chose these classy (and really inexpensive) Gap pants because of the tailoring and the cropped style. Finally for accessories it is the trusty Sprout watch, a beaded necklace, and my Payless wedges.

Tip of the Day: Wear a shorter dress as a top and cinch it, you can have yet another style choice if your pieces can serve multiple purposes.

Rushing Out The Door-Wear!

Somehow, despite the fact I woke up at the right time, I am still in a rush!

Darn living so far away from work!

Anyhoo today is a NICE day, it may rain but it is over normal temperature so I can wear a t-shirt comfortably as well as a nicer skirt. Finally some form versus function.

So at the last section I chose a very old H&M striped shirt, tucked into a H&M yellow wrap skirt with a Urban belt. For accessories I chose my geode home-made necklace, my Sprout watch, and a candy-cane colored ring. As for shoes I chose a good standby in my late times, my jean colored wedges.

Tip of the Day: Wear stripes, they do an outfit good!

A Purple Start to the Week!

Today I started off the week with a new dress. This is a dress that I ordered from Boden and it arrived last week. Its actually the same dress as the ikat dress that I was wearing this week, only in a solid purple. To offset the solid dress I paired it with my striped cardigan ( I realize this is basically a different version of the same outfit that I wore last Monday). I paired my dress and cardigan combo with me bow peep toes from BR. I got a pedicure yesterday and wanted to show off my newly painted toes. These are also incredibly comfortable shoes, which is good because I went up and down the stairs about twenty times today.

Back to Work Wednesday!

Its hard to tell from these pictures, but when I took them this morning I felt far from pulled together and ready to go back to work. After such a nice weekend spent relaxing, coming back to my real life was hard. So I fell back on my basic work look: pencil skirt and heels, printed top and cardigan.












This morning I paired my ikat print cowl neck top with my black BR pencil skirt and dark gray cardigan. To add a little more color to my outfit I wore a red cloth headband.

















I finished off my outfit with my mid-height bow peep toes from BR. These shoes are the best for an anything goes day. They are dressier then flats, but their mid-height heel means you can spend all day in them. Plus I love bow detailing!

Flea Market Sunday

Hello!

Today I wanted to have a little bit of fun (pep style) and take some long walks to a few flea markets in NYC. Flea markets are some of my go-to places for interesting accessories and clothes, so we will see how I do.



Today I also wanted to be comfy and look nice. I am going to a jazz festival concert tonight so I will change my clothes then but for now I wanted something I could move in. I am wearing a light pastel blue jean skirt with a pastel green tank top and my Mexican short vest. For accessories I chose just my geode necklace and for shoes my Payless graphic print flats.

Dreary Thursday but Sunny Outfits!

Hello everyone,

It is hot, muggy, and cloudy again today but alas I will not let it bring me down! Despite some serious computer issues I am writing this blog post quickly but with some detail.

Today I am wearing a fabulous dress that I have had for years from H&M. It is a deep blue with bright blue diamonds printed on it. I topped it with an H&M sweatshirt style blazer and Payless flats and my geode home-made necklace. I am so glad I can still wear this dress because it highlights my clavicle as well as my arms and it very comfortable. I also have a serious addiction to blazers (that is why you see so many of them) so here is yet another that is comfortable and fun. I was also wearing a brown straw fedora but did not get it into the shot. See more photos below!

Hello lovely clothes obsessed people!

I am pretty chipper due to the fact I finished all my work and have a few weeks of relaxation before I start an internship at the Museum For African Art. Today is another beautiful day, warm, sunny, and without papers!

I wanted to look nice today because I am working a Tenement Talks event but will be sitting a lot working on stuff in the office before hand. Skirts are always good for sitting.

Today I am wearing a t-shirt from Urban with a H&M purple short-sleeve button down over it. For the bottom I choose a button up full skirt and made it high-waist-ed to ensure the proportions look right. As for accessories I had to tone it all down because my metal allergy is flaring and I need to take a break from all of my precious faux gold jewelry. So I am wearing a cloth necklace with flat geodes I got from the AMNH in NYC.

For shoes I am wearing Payless Isabel Toledo flats which are comfy and stylish.

Warm and Sticky - time for a bright skirt!

Today is a hot one, but chillier in the morning so I improvised (kinda) and wore a slim bright skirt with some gray tights. I choose a basic t-shirt because I wanted to keep the color and the excitement in one place, which is silly because I always wear more pattern then a fabric shop. I also topped it off with a cropped jacket because it gets very chilly in the office.

I wore a necklace I made with slices of geode and some cloth and my purple suede wedges.

Now I gotta get outside! too nice in here!
